Crash recovery

If a server crashes, Hearth restarts it, keeps the crash log and can tell you on Discord.

Friends and roles

Let friends help as owners, helpers or guests, each on the servers you pick. Two-factor login keeps it safe.

Game updates

Hearth installs server files with SteamCMD, spots game updates and installs them when nobody is playing.

Set up in a few minutes

Hearth runs on the PC that hosts your servers. Your phone and other PCs just open it.

Download and run the installerWindows may say "Windows protected your PC", because Hearth is new and not signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.
Create your accountHearth opens in its own window. You're the admin of your own Hearth; nobody else can get in unless you let them.
Add a serverPick the game and a folder. Hearth can download the server files for most games, or use a server you already have.
Invite your friendsPlayers join the game as usual. For friends who help run things, send an invite from the server's People tab.
Open it on your phoneSettings › Remote access gives Hearth a secure link you can open anywhere. Turn on two-factor login first.

Questions

Is Hearth free?

Yes, while it's in beta.

Do my players need Hearth?

No. They join your server in the game like always. Hearth is for you and the friends who help run things.

Does Hearth host my servers somewhere?

No. Your servers run on your own PC, and your worlds and settings stay there. Hearth starts with Windows and keeps your servers going from the tray.

Why does Windows warn me about the installer?

Windows warns about new programs that haven't been downloaded by many people yet or aren't signed with a paid certificate. Click More info, then Run anyway. The warning goes away as more people use Hearth.

How does it update?

By itself. When a new version is ready, Hearth tells you, and installs it when you restart it. Servers that were running start again afterwards.

Is it safe to open from my phone?

Hearth's remote link goes through Cloudflare over https, needs an account to do anything, and requires two-factor login for the admin before it can be turned on. Wrong passwords lock out the address they come from.
